Trip Brochure

Discover the grand sweep of art and architecture along the western shores of Europe, from the magical Sir John Soane’s Museum in London to the majestic Mont-St-Michel in Northern France to Frank Gehry’s Guggenheim in Bilbao.

Set sail aboard Sea Cloud II from Portsmouth, England and arrive at St. Malo for a visit to Mont St Michel, rising from the sea. Pass tiny Ile d’Oussant, where the lighthouse Phare de Créac’h announces our approach to Brittany. At Belle Ile en Mer discover the beauty of this largest of the Breton Islands, and see why Monet came here to paint. Continue to the fashionable yachting center of La Rochelle, with its covered markets, old arcaded streets and historic houses.

In the beautiful Basque region, step ashore at Bilbao for a special tour of the stunning Guggenheim Museum. Then cruise along the northern coast of Spain and, from the port town of La Coruna, drive through the countryside of Galicia to the remarkable Santiago de Compostela. The Way of St. James was the most traveled pilgrimage route of the Middle Ages. After a day of leisurely cruising along Portugal's beautiful Douro coast, disembark in Lisbon.

In Portugal’s historic capital, visit the magnificent Jeronimos Monastery, Belém Tower and Monument to the Discoveries, as well as the collections of the Calouste Gulbenkian Museum.

Accompanying us on this journey is Eric Chavot, executive chef at the Capital Restaurant in London. Onboard cooking demonstrations and culinary discussions will be a special highlight during our voyage. Our cruise was recently mentioned in WINE ENTHUSIAST Magazine – article in the December 15th 2006 issue > see PDF.

Sea Cloud II (left) meets up with the original Sea Cloud

A Sailing Legend’s Modern Sister:  In February 2001 the SEA CLOUD II turned fantasy into reality: Like no other ship, she combines the timeless elegance of windjammers of past with the highest safety standards and the luxurious  comfort of modern cruise ships.

Sailing romantics will be fascinated  while on board, where the 29,600 sq. feet  of sails is set by hand – just as on her legendary sister ship, the SEA CLOUD.

To learn more about SEA CLOUD II, please check out their site with photos and deck plans, etc.
